Description: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids requested financial support in the amount of $1,000 to help with summer field trip activities. 

Through the core program areas, they strive to make learning as fun as possible. Since youth are with them all day they are also looking for activities that will get them out of the club and give them new experiences so we include field trips throughout the summer that appeal to all ages of kids. Many of the youth come from low-income families and do not have the opportunity to experience these types of activities. They believe it is important for the youth to have a life education as well as a school education. Although many of the businesses for the activities donate admission tickets, it is their responsibility to get the kids to and from the activities. As gas prices generally increase during the summer months, this is one area where they need extra financial help each summer.
