Date: 12/5/2013 School/Organization: Jefferson Volleyball Club Project Leader: Selita Jansen Amount: $600 Description: The J-Hawk Volleyball Club offers a lower cost/less travel club volleyball opportunity to incoming and current JHS students who may not be able to play on another travel team due to costs or other commitments. They are trying to keep the cost as low as possible, but at $450, it’s still prohibitive for some. In 2013, three girls and their families requested financial help. We provided each girl with a $200 gift/scholarship, and the families will came up with the rest. Each of these three girls have some volleyball skills that could keep them stay involved in something positive throughout high school.
