Date: 2/24/2011 School/Organization: Tait Cummins Project Leader: Chad Spore/Warren Valenta Amount: $1,000 Description: This complex has been a Westside fixture for many years and provides a great place for our youth to play baseball and softball. The fact that the complex was built on an old land fill and the recent flooding had left the complex in need of major repairs to make it safe for play. The summer of 2011 had Tait Cummins hosting 13 youth tournaments. Each tournament you will find the complex filled with 150 – 200 kids having the times of their lives. Most of these kids will get to play 3-5 games each of these weekends. Without the complex our local youth would be forced to play less often or travel to other communities to play which can often be a big cost issue for the local families considering the cost of travel (gas, hotel, food, etc). The donation of $1000 went a long way in preserving that our Westside youth have a HOME field to play on, and most importantly play on safely. This donation also allowed one of the diamonds to be named after the CR netWORK.
