Date: 7/12/2013 School/Organization: Roosevelt Middle School/Matthew 25 Project Leader: Courtney Amount: $500 Description: The Roosevelt school garden is a program run by Matthew 25 at Roosevelt Middle School. Matthew 25 staff and volunteers provide at least one hour per week of hands-on educational programming for 35 weeks to the Roosevelt Garden Club. Matthew 25 also oversees construction and maintenance of the school garden, especially during summer when fewer students are around to participate. The main goal of the garden and food P4education programming associated with the garden is to shift the food culture in Matthew 25’s target neighborhoods.
